To make things easier for users to work on, Microsoft is deploying several new changes that focus on integrating current apps into an all-round service. Last week, the company announced a 3-in-1 Office app to include all the fundamental features of Word, Office, and PowerPoint and now, it appears to apply the same strategy for Outlook.com when starting the integration of three Google apps – Gmail, Drive, and Calendar – into its webmail service.
Microsoft has reportedly started the testing stage of this integration on select accounts. According to the owner of the Twitter account “Florian B”, he was able to access the feature today. The process firstly requires a quick setup and asks the user to link a Google Account to his Outlook.com account. From that, the web-based Outlook.com will automatically display Google-originated stuff inside its interface, for example, mails from Gmail, documents saved on Drive, and private data scheduled on Google Calendar.
In a word, the feature works in a similar way as the Outlook app built for Android and iOS. The account FlorianB also added that he could add multiple Google accounts, and the entire page did get refreshed after he switched between them and Outlook.
With the new integration, users will soon be able to attach files from Google and Outlook interchangeably, making their personal space and workflow more convenient. However, Google hasn’t yet to disclose anything regarding the exact date of the public launch, at least for now.
