Rumors about Apple’s AirPower wireless charging pad, and just recently, some leaked information suggested that the company eventually came up with a solution to make it possible. In fact, Apple aimed to launch AirPower last year, but the plan has come into a streak of delays as the wireless charging pad stumbled upon heating troubles.
As reported, Apple even canceled the development after a series of launch delays, considering that engineers were unable to craft “high-quality” hardware.
Jon Prosser, a reliable tipster in the tech community, then tweeted a collection of “C68 charging pad” images, which showed how it is compatible with both AirPods and Apple Watch. What’s more, these images proved that users will no longer have to use a lightning port to power the gadget as usual.
Prosser once talked about the C68 charging accessory as he predicted that it could be launched as the AirPower wireless charging pad. The device needs software to manage communication between various types of devices while charging, so engineers at Apple have started to work on early prototypes of the wireless charging pad.
Aside from housing an A11 chip inside for adjusting the heat, the device is likely to come bundled with USB Type C port, according to Prosser’s new visuals.
There’s no word on when such a device would hit the street, but it’s highly evident that Apple fans will have to keep calm until Q4 2020 while it could be priced at around Rs. 20,000.
