At the ‘Google for India’ event 2019, the top-world tech company made an official announcement on providing a new update for Google Assistant users in India. As of now, users just need to say one of the following commands to require the virtual assistant to change the current language into Hindi: “Talk to me in Hindi” or “Ok Google, Hindi bolo”. In addition, a similar command will be applied when they want to choose other Indian languages including Kannada, Bengali, Urdu, Telugu, and Gujarat.

Another notable announcement is that the company now allows its users to watch the breaking news in Hindi on Google Assistant. To do that, they need to talk to the virtual assistant as below: “Ok Google, Hindi news”.
Also, Google has also inked pact with Vodafone-Idea to offer Google Assistant via phone call. At present, the new feature is under test in Kanpur and Lucknow. To experience the virtual assistant, users can make a call to the number 000-800-9191-000.
The company has provided a new update for its Bolo app. This app now supports a variety of new Indian languages including Urdu, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, and Bangla.

However, all of the above announcements are not the most important highlights at the ‘Google for India’. It is, in fact, the interpreter mode. The feature must be a helpful tool for those who need translation between English and Hindi in real-time.
In addition, Google has focused on developing voice commands for some certain actions such as booking a ride via Ola Cabs, ordering pizzas from Domino’s, or checking your current bank balance.
