When people search for clothing on Google Search, besides links to various stores and products, they will also see the most popular items and their prices.

After Google Shopping underwent a major revamp last fall, the company has now updated the shopping experience on its mobile version of Google Search. Now, when people search for shoes, clothing, or accessories on the Google, besides links to various stores and products, they will also see a section displaying the most popular items from stores all over the web, which can be browsed and filtered.

According to the search giant, for instance, when a user searches for “floral dresses,” they will see a selection of products in a visual guide. They can also narrow the results down by size, department, or style, and view the images. The search engine will additionally show the number of stores having that particular product underneath each item as well as the lowest price for it, $199+ for example.

The change is meant to help people when they need to find all the shops that sell a certain item that they want, which wasn’t an easy task in the past.

Moreover, when users view the item they’re searching for, they can scroll down to read reviews from other customers. If they are ready to make the purchase, they can just click on the link to the shop they want.

This feature is possible thanks to the search index of Google, which has organized items from over a million online shops and is refreshed regularly. It was also noted by the company that the new feature is not a paid ad for retails, in case you’re questioning. At the same time, participating retailers can add their products to this section, free of charge.

The changes come at a time when Google is trying to improve the shopping experience for online retailers, which can help the tech giant become the best platform to find everything that is not available on Amazon.

In related attempts, the firm recently acquired startup Pointy for $163 million for helping physical retailers with tracking their in-store inventory. Besides, it has updated Google Shopping homepage, making it a personalized destination based on users’ purchases and habits and adding extras such as a price tracker along with new ways of shopping from online and local retailers. However, sometimes users don’t turn to Google Shopping to search for items to buy, they look of the items on Google Search only, this is where the feature comes in handy.
