Google Releases Chrome 71 With Ad Blocking, Protection Against Billing Scam Improvement

Google has just made an announcement that Chrome 71, its web browser’s latest version has been released for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Google’s latest version was in beta mode for the past few months, which offers to block manipulative ad and showing warning billing screens features to help reduce abusive ads experiences.

Back in 2017, Google said that the company had plans to support Better Ads Standards’ guidelines.

In a blog post, the Chrome team from Google showed great enthusiasm about Chrome 71’s promotion for Linux, Mac, and Windows and will be available for the coming days/weeks.

In this latest version, whenever a site seems to be hiding the actual costs and transaction terms, users will receive warnings about it. Websites that are considered abusive would be filtered. Chrome 71 is now available for the desktop platform.

Websites that have fake system dialogues popping up or force users to download a driver update stating it is compulsory will be blocked by Chrome 71. Any fake messages that the Chrome team defines as ads, warnings or a form of notification redirecting users to new pages will also be eliminated.

In order to protect users from becoming victims of phishing tools, websites that receive constant notices from Google Search Console’s Abusive Experiences Report but keeps on going these warnings will be targeted by the content blocking system from Chrome 71. Sites which are ported will be given 30 days to clean up before they are removed.

Chrome 71 will also notify users when the website try might try to rip them off by not showing subscription fee or payments terms.

On the Android operating system, the menu ‘Autofill and payments’ in Chrome has been split up into two different parts: Andress and more and Payment methods.

In the next few weeks, Chrome 71 will be available for Android and iOS users.
