Flipkart Adds More Than 50,000 Direct Jobs Ahead Of Festive Season Sale

On September 24, Flipkart announced that it has added more than 50,000 direct jobs into its current supply chain, customer support and logistics arm before the Big Billion Days and the festive season sales officially start.
According to the Bengaluru-based e-commerce company, it is preparing for the upcoming festive season sales and plans to let the indirect jobs reach a 30-percent increase to 6.5 lakh, compared to those in 2018. The annual event will last 06 days and start from September 29. The Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said that the company held the Big Billion Days event to add value to customers, by providing clients with a great variety of selection and shopping experience during the festival season.
However, Flipkart also aims to benefit the whole economic ecosystem, that is truly what Big Billion Days want to archieve. This event might creat new employment opportunites and also scaling the sellers' businesses. This will also help developing the local industries and promoting the creation of a robust econony.
In terms of the directly employed labor force, they will work in the whole supply chain, such as in Flipkart Wishmasters, delivery hubs, mother hubs, and in warehouses.
In addition, they receive comprehensive training in many different aspects relating to the supply chain from tackling scanners, PoS machines, ERPs, mobile applications, to handheld devices.
Flipkart also trains these employees in some more sophisticated aspects of customer service, installation, and delivery.
