There are more and more people audio and video chatting on Messenger on their personal computers or laptops. The number is even rising for people staying home because of the ongoing pandemic.

Now, users have a separate Facebook Messenger app to use on their desktop devices. This is really good support from Facebook in the period that a lot of people are spending all day in their houses and working online. It will be more convenient for online meetings, helping the company compete with other video chatting apps like Zoom (a very popularly used app for online teaching and meeting now), FaceTem of Apple or Skype of Microsoft and other apps, especially when Zoom is facing some problems relating to privacy and security and losing its points.
Chudnovsky, Head of Facebook Messenger, said in a blog post that the number of people using technology tools to connect with their family, their friends and others, is higher than ever.
Facebook also claimed that the number of people who audio and video chat on Messenger desktop browser has increased more than 100 percent over the last month. The new Messenger Desktop app is to serve the increasing need of users and it has all the features that the mobile app has. You can get this new app on the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store.
