Instagram-Like Boomerang Feature Is Coming To WhatsApp

WhatsApp is testing the Instagram-like Boomerang feature, which will let users create boomerang clips from less than 7-second videos.

The new feature of WhatsApp reportedly will let users create boomerang clips from less than 7-second videos. It is expected to be launched first on iOS and followed by Android. Still, the feature is not available as developers are still working to ensure that users have the best bug-free experience.

Boomerang is a video app from Instagram. This feature helps users to take a burst of photos and then stitch them together into a high-quality mini video playing forward and backward. Unlike other video features, the Boomerang video does not include audio.

This boomerang feature could be developed for WhatsApp users to use in status updates and chats. It will allow users to make boomerang-type video loops in the form of short videos as we normally see on Instagram.

Check the video below to see how it works!

As stated in a WABetaInfo’s report, WhatsApp has been developing this feature for the past few weeks. Just like the one on Instagram, WhatsApp’s feature allows us to loop a video. This new feature will soon be available in the Video Type section that also allows users to convert a clip to GIF. If your video is less than 7 seconds, a new button will appear in the toggle tab. With this new feature, you will be able to create a boomerang version of your videos. And once everything is done, you can share it with people in your contacts or post as a status.

Unfortunately, the feature is not available yet. Also, it has not been pushed to WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android users. However, it will roll out soon. According to WABetaInfo, the Estimated Time Arrival (ETA) for the publication of this feature hasn't been revealed yet.
