It seems like the ongoing battle between Bernie Sanders and Amazon has yet come to an end.
In the past, the Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential election has always been a vocal critic of Amazon and Jeff Bezos, its CEO.
Previously, he asked for a minimum wage of $15, which was later introduced by the tech giant in November last year.
At that time, Sanders praised the company’s decision, “Mr. Bezos and Amazon are now leading the way."
However, this Monday, after the Daily Beast reported 911 calls coming from Amazon warehouses and how its workers are experiencing emotional distress, Sanders strongly criticized the company via his Twitter account.
The incident came after Business Insider carried an investigation into the working conditions of the warehouse last month. The investigation revealed the brutal reality of the company's workers who have to endure long hours of working, workplace injuries, physical labor, the pressure to keep the work running consistently, and fears about having a break, despite the hazardous weather.
Sanders is among many Democratic candidates who are putting pressure on Jeff Bezos and his company. Last week, 2020 presidential candidate, Elizabeth Warren, said that if she became the new president, she would pass a law that would break up all tech giants including Amazon, Alphabet, Facebook, and Apple.
