Apple announced its new global service program for its third-generation iPad Air models that suffer a strange issue with their displays. The tech giant said that the display of some iPads flash or flicker then go blank permanently, meaning the device is dead.

If you have an iPad Air and experiencing the same problem, the good news is that Apple will fix it for you, free of charge. According to the company, the new service program will be provided for iPad Air devices manufactured from March 2019 to October 2019. The third-gen model was launched in March last year.
The Cupertino-based firm didn’t explain the cause of this issue, but PCMag theorizes that this may happen due to a manufacturing fault that’s associated with the LCD display that disables functionality.

Apple said that the service will be delivered by the company itself or an Authorized Service Provider that has eligible devices. For those that need and can benefit from this new service program, there are three options for you to choose from:
- The first one having the device fixed at an Apple Authorized Provider.
- The second choice is bringing your iPad Air to the nearest Apple Store.
- The third option is contacting Apple Support then send your iPad Air to them through the mail, and the Apple Repair Center will take care of it.
It’s worth noting that having your iPad Air repaired under this program will not extend the standard warranty for the device. Apple said that this program will take in iPad Airs for two years since the first retail unit sold.
