Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi seems to be developing a new budget phone in the coming time. However, its moniker probably intrigues you. According to the details of RF certification posted on the official site of the company, the mysterious phone could bear the name Redmi 8A Pro.
Redmi has just released the 8A on September 25. It is quite surprising for its fans when hearing about the launch of the 8A Pro. Previously, this Chinese phone maker had no track record of unveiling a Pro model of the budget A series. It is known that the Redmi 7A did not have a Pro variant. The brand equips better SoCs on the Redmi phones without ‘A’ in their names. For example, the Redmi 7 comes with a better SoC, bigger and better display than the 7A. Apparently, the phone with higher specs aims at a higher price range.
It remains to be seen what specifications that the Redmi 8A Pro will come with to differentiate itself from the regular 8A. To recall, the Redmi 8A sports 6.22-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a dewdrop notch on the display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 439 SoC, coupled with 2GB or 3G RAM and 32GB internal storage. In terms of imaging capabilities, the phone comes with a 12-megapixel main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 on the back and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfies. In addition, the phone is packed with a huge 5,000 mAh battery. In the software department, the 8A runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie at launch. However, since MIUI 11 will be available soon, the 8A Pro is likely to come with pre-installed MIUI 11.
