Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is tipped to be the first smartphone in the world to sport a 108MP primary camera on the back.

Chinese phone maker Xiaomi is said to launch the latest Mi Mix 4 by the end of September or sometime in October. The handset will be the successor to the Mix Mix 3 launched last year. The new Mi Mix 4 reportedly has a huge improvement over the predecessor. Recently, ahead of the launch, nearly full specs of the phone have surfaced online. And here are the specs of the phone leaked in the rumours.

Mi Mix 4: Design

So far, the details of the phone’s design have been unknown. However, it is expected that the phone will sport a full-view display like the Mi Mix 3. But, the Mi Mix 4 could have several changes in the overall design. Particularly, while the predecessor comes with a sliding selfie camera, the Mi Mix 4 could have a pop-up selfie shooter. Additionally, the handset is tipped to have an under-display fingerprint sensor instead of rear-mounted one like before. In addition, the phone will come with a center-mounted primary camera setup on the back, which is different from the top-left setup on the Mix 3. Finally, the new Mi Mix phone will have a body which is fully made of ceramic.

Mi Mix 4: Software & Display

As per the rumours, the phone probably sports a 2K screen which is curved on both sides. The phone will have a 120Hz screen refresh rate and HDR10+ support. So far, there has been no information about the phone’s display size. However, we could expect a larger screen than the predecessor which sported a 6.39-inch display. In terms of software, the phone will run MIUI 11 at launch, which is expected to be introduced sometime within September. The new operating system from Xiaomi is tipped to come with a bunch of new features such as Dark Mode. Also the handset will supposedly resolve advertising issues that have long been raised by Xiaomi users.

Mi Mix 4: Performance

If the rumours come true, the phone could be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus flagship chipset. The new SoC, which was the successor of Snapdragon 855 launched last year, was unveiled at the beginning of 2019. The chipset is clocked at 2.96 GHz, which is higher than the speed of 2.84 GHz of its predecessor, in addition to other performance and graphics enhancements. In the configuration department, the handset is tipped to come with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. All rumoured specs suggested that the new Mi Mix phone is among the most powerful devices on the smartphone market.

Mi Mix 4: Cameras

Regarding the imaging capabilities, the handset will become the first phone in the work to have newly-launched 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX unit from Samsung. The company previously revealed that the handset will feature an improved sensor than Samsung GW1 Bright 64MP setup. In addition, the brand also confirmed that it could come with a newly-launched Samsung 108MP camera sensor. Therefore, it is likely that the Mix 4 is actually the first phone of the brand to support this camera.

In addition to a 108MP primary sensor, the Mix 4 will have 3 other rear sensors including a 16MP sensor, a 12MP sensor, and a periscope sensor. With these above sensors, the Mix 4 could be among the best camera smartphone on theory at least. However, the information about the selfie shooter remains unknown at present.

Mi Mix 4: Other specifications

Powering the Mi Mix 4 is a huge 4,500 mAh battery with the 25W wireless quick charging and the 45W wired charging support. In addition, the phone is tipped to feature the reverse charging tech as well. While the predecessor does not have an audio jack, Xiaomi is said to bring it back on the Mi Mix 4

However, with various upgraded features, the handset is expected to have higher pricing than its predecessor which was priced from Rs. 35,000 at launch.
