Xiaomi has officially launched its latest flagship, the Mi 11. This is the first smartphone in the world to have the most powerful Snapdragon 88 chip from Qualcomm, accompanied by many outstanding points like a 6.8-inch 2K 120Hz display, a 108MP camera setup, 55W fast charging, etc.
And like many other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi takes joy in comparing its products with Apple’s iPhone. At the recent event, Xiaomi CEO has continuously compared the Mi 11 with the newest and most advanced iPhone 12 Pro Max in many aspects including the screen, wireless charging speed, and even the camera.

Xiaomi has released a video showing that the Mi 11 can catch WiFi signal faster than the iPhone 12 Pro Max. In the video, the company has taken both devices to a stadium. The WiFi router selected by Xiaomi is the AX6000 which was launched alongside the Mi 11.
The router is placed in the center of the field. The Mi 11 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max undergo three tests in three different locations: the goal (53m from the router), the near standing area (114m from the router), and the far standing area (161m from the router). In all three tests, the Mi 11 has 2 times faster download speeds than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The victory of the Mi 11 is thanks to the device’s ability to support a new 6E WiFi standard based on the 6Ghz band. The Mi 11, like other smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 888 chip, has Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X60 modem and supports the 6E WiFi standard.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro Max uses an older Snapdragon X55 modem, which only supports the “regular” WiFi 6 standard.
The main difference between WiFi 6E and WiFi 6 is that WiFi 6E can work on the 6Ghz band which is said to bring significant speed improvements. This is similar to what users have experienced when switching from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz.

And Xiaomi’s AX6000 is also one of the first routers in the world to support this standard. With Xiaomi owning both the first router to support WiFi 6E standard and the first smartphone to have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X60 modem, it doesn’t come as a surprise when the Mi 11 can defeat the iPhone 12 Pro Max of Apple.
