After many leaks and rumors, today, 13th February, Xiaomi officially launched the duo Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, the two latest flagship models of the Mi series. However, due to the effects of the new coronavirus, Xiaomi was unable to hold a big event like every year, instead, it only held an online launch event for the announcement of the two devices.
Like the previous rumors, both Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro models will have some things in common:
- Snapdragon 865 SoC
- 8 / 12GB RAM (LPDDR5)
- 6.67 inch Super AMOLED screen, 90Hz refresh rate, 18.7: 9 ratio, support for DCI-P3 and HDR10 +, Gorilla Glass 6
- Support 5G (dual-mode SA and NSA), WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC
- Under-display fingerprint sensor
The main difference between these two versions will come from the battery capacity and fast charging technology.
Specifically, in terms of design, both Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will have quite similar design styles, including a 6.67 inch AMOLED main screen with a punch-hole on the front. This screen is curved on both sides, has Full HD + resolution and has a 90Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi also allows users to switch between 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rate to optimize battery life.
On the back, we will have a glass back, which is also curved on both sides for easier grip. This back of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro stands out with the main camera cluster placed vertically at the left corner. At the launch event, Xiaomi's CEO confidently claimed the camera quality of the Mi 10 duo when the Pro version has a DxOMark score of 124 points (including 134 points in photography and 104 points in video), surpassing Huawei Mate 30 Pro with 123 points.
Specific camera specifications of both devices are as follows:
Xiaomi Mi 10 main camera:
- 108MP f / 1.69: wide-angle lens (25mm), OIS support, Samsung Bright HMX sensor
- 13MP f / 2.2: ultra-wide-angle lens (16mm)
- 2MP f / 2.0 macro camera
- 2MP f / 2.0 depth sensor
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro main camera:
- 108MP f / 1.69: wide-angle lens (25mm), OIS support, Samsung Bright HMX sensor
- 20MP f / 2.2: ultra-wide-angle lens (16mm)
- 12MP f / 2: telephoto lens (50mm)
- 8MP f / 2: long-range telephoto lens (94mm, 10x hybrid zoom)
Selfie Camera:
- 20MP f / 2.0
In terms of hardware configuration, in addition to being equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset and 8 / 12GB RAM capacity, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro have differences in storage memory. Specifically, the standard Mi 10 will have two storage options of 128 / 256GB, while the Pro version will have two options of 256 / 512GB. Both are UFS 3.0 storage.
The battery capacity of both versions is also different. While the Mi 10 will have a 4,780mAh battery higher, the Mi 10 Pro has a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery. Despite the higher battery, the standard version only supports 30W (wired) fast charging, 30W (wireless) and 10W (wireless reverse charging), while the Pro version will support 50W wired fast-charging and the same wireless and reverse wireless charging standards.
Both Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will run on Android 10 with MIUI 11 interface. In addition, this year's Mi 10 duo are also equipped with advanced liquid cooling systems to help cool the devices during intense sessions.
