Black Shark 2 is an upcoming addition to the gaming smartphone series from the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi. The handset is expected to launch on 18 March. Ahead of launch, the Chinese company has just posted several teaser posters confirming that the gaming phone will pack the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with a whopping 12GB RAM. Additionally, Xiaomi already opens for registration for the phone in the Chinese market and it reveals that this gaming handset will be offered in a total of three memory configurations.
The teaser posters from the company for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 reveal that it will come with a massive 12GB RAM. You can also spot the Snapdragon 855 image featured on the poster, confirming that the phone will pack the latest offering from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855 SoC. To recall, the handset was already spotted on the benchmarking site Geekbench packing 12GG RAM and AnTuTu with the Snapdragon 855 SoC and 12GB RAM as well.
In addition, Xiaomi has just opened the registration for the Black Shark 2 on its official storage 5 days ahead of the official launch. According to PlayfulDroid, the registrations are up on JD.com and Mi.com. As listed on the registration page, the phone will be offered in a single colour option ‘Frozen Silver’ and three memory configurations, including 6GB RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/256GB storage, and 12GB RAM/256GB storage.
As listed, it will be priced from RMB 9,999 (approx. Rs. 1,02,900). However, we believe it could be just a placeholder, considering the fact that its predecessor was offered at a much lower price tag. Moreover, the photo of the handset on the registration page reveals that the upcoming phone will have a backlit logo along with illuminated strips on both sides of the handset. Furthermore, Xiaomi CEO Lin Bin also posted an image of the Black Shark 2’s home screen. Previously, the phone was confirmed to feature the new Liquid Cool 3 tech for thermal management but the company didn’t really illustrate or reveal how effective is this technology.
