Vivo has introduced the Vivo Z5 phone in the Chinese market on July 31. It is considered as an upgraded variant of the Z5x launched in China in May. Several notable features of the phone include Snapdragon 712 SoC, big battery, 48MP triple rear camera setup, and a display with tall aspect ratio and an on-screen fingerprint scanner.
Vivo Z5: Availability & Price

The newly-launched Vivo Z5 are available in 4 variants in the Chinese market including a 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant priced at CNY1,598 (roughly Rs. 16,000), a 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant priced at CNY1,898 (roughly Rs. 19,000), a 6GB RAM + 256GB internal variant with the price of CNY1,998 (roughly Rs. 20,000), and a 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage sold for CNY2,298 (roughly Rs. 23,000). Those who want to purchase this device can pre-order from 1 August via major e-commerce sites in China. And it will go on sales on 6 August with 3 color options including Holographic Illusion, Forest Night, and Aurora Illusion.
Vivo Z5: Features & Specifications

The Z5 phone has a weight of 189.6g and measures 159.53mm x 75.25mm x 8.13mm. In addition, it has a high gloss chassis made of polycarbonate like the Z5x. Besides, the phone sports a 6.38-inch Full HD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixel) AMOLED display with a dewdrop notch, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. Additionally, the handset comes with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. It also supports several features such as DC dimming and Always-on Display.
Under the hood, the Vivo Z5 is powered by a Snapdragon 712 SoC, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM + up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. In addition, it comes with a big 4,500 mAh battery with the 22.5W FlashCharge support via USB Type-C port and the reverse charging technology. And Vivo also removed the microSD slot in the Z5.

In terms of imaging capabilities, the device features a triple rear camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide angle (120 degrees) sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front, the phone sports a 32MP f/2.0 sensor for taking selfies and video calling. Notably, in the darker conditions, the phone uses 4-in-1 pixel merging tech for brighter selfies output.

The device runs Android 9.0 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 at launch. It also has Multi-Turbo system to enhance its performance and throttle the graphics while playing games. Additionally, the phone has a dedicated hardware key for the Jovi AI assistant’s assessment. Other connectivity options of the phone include an audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, Wifi 802.11ac, 4G VoLTE, and dual SIM.
