Many recent leaks had suggested that the China-based Vivo would announce a phone dubbed Vivo S1 with Helio P65 SoC and triple rear cameras. However, the name Vivo S1 would cause confusion since there was another phone with the exact name in China with a pop-up camera instead. Because of that, the handset was just launched under the Vivo S1 name in the global market, and it goes official in China as well, but under the Vivo Y7s moniker instead.
Vivo Y7s: Availability & Price
The handset is available in a single variant with 6GB of RAM / 128GB of storage for RMB 1,798 (around Rs. 18,100). Users have two color options to choose from - Wave Blue and Sea Breeze.
Vivo Y7s: Specifications
The handset features a 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a water-drop notch at the top for housing a selfie camera. For security, it is packed with an on-screen fingerprint reader. The screen is said to have nearly a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of performance, it is driven by an Helio P65 processor, coupled with an ARM Mali-G52 GPU, which is said to be more powerful than the Mali-G72 used on the Helio P60. It also makes use of 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable with a microSD card slot. Software-wise, it has Funtouch preloaded, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
In terms of camera, you can capture photos with a triple camera setup at the back, including a 16MP Sony IMX499 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP AI camera for selfie duties. Notable camera features include AI Beauty, HDR backlight, Pro Mode, document correction, and panorama. The whole setup is fueled by a beefy 4,500 mAh battery that can be refilled with dual-engine fast charging solution.
