Vivo launched two new smartphones in its Vivo X series at an event held in China. The duo, called Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro, are both 5G smartphones and are also the first Vivo devices to feature the Exynos 980 processor, which is Samsung's flagship chipset in 2018.
Vivo X30 & Vivo X30 Pro: Price & Availability
Vivo X30 is expected to go on sale from December 28 with a starting price of CNY 3,298 (about Rs. 33,400) for the 128GB version. Meanwhile, the 256GB version of the memory will cost slightly higher, CNY 3,598 (about Rs. 36,500). Both phones are available in three color options, Black, Pink, and Blue.
As for Vivo X30 Pro, the device is expected to go on sale from December 24 and will start at CNY 3,998 (about Rs. 40,500) for the 128GB version. The price that users have to pay to own the 256GB version of internal memory is CNY 4,298 (equivalent to around Rs. 43,600).
Vivo X30 & Vivo X30 Pro: Features & Specifications
The Vivo X30 and X30 Pro have an identical design, with a punch-hole screen with a cutout in the upper right corner with a diameter of 2.98mm. They are covered with glass on both sides.
Both Vivo X30 and X30 Pro are equipped with a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED screen, supporting Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). They have a fingerprint sensor built below the screen and also supports face unlock for security.
These are the first two Vivo phones to run the Exynos 980 chipset, Samsung's first processor with a 5G modem built-in. The chip has a total of 8 cores, including 2 Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Both devices have 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB internal storage options.
The Exynos 980 supports dual 5G network connection (SA and NSA), with download speeds of up to 2.55Gbps. Besides, it also supports 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 5.8GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro duo come with a 4,350 mAh battery, which supports fast charging of 33W Flash Charge via the USB Type-C connector. Both of them have liquid cooling technology and Multi-Turbo 2.5 feature built-in. Software-wise, it runs FunTouchOS 10 interface out of the box, which is based on Android 9 Pie OS.
Cameras of Vivo X30
Talking about the camera, this is the biggest difference between Vivo X30 and X30 Pro. Specifically, the standard version is equipped with a triple-camera system on the back, including a 64MP f / 1.8 main sensor with a focal length of 26.4mm, an 8MP super wide-angle sensor with f / 2.2 aperture, 16mm focal length, and a 112-degree viewing angle; and a 32MP f / 2.0 depth sensor with 50mm focal length.
It has Super Night Scene Mode 2.0, which reduces multi-frame noise and deliver brighter, more detailed night photography. The device supports up to 20x zoom thanks to the algorithm. According to Vivo, it is possible to combine the main sensor and depth sensor to take pictures of the moon with high details.
Cameras of Vivo X30 Pro
As for the X30 Pro, the phone also has a 64MP main camera on the back with the same f / 1.8 aperture and 26.4mm focal length. However, the 8MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera has a viewing angle of up to 122 degrees, while the 32MP f / 2.0 depth sensor has a 50mm focal length. In addition, the device also added a 13MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom located on the right side, above the LED flash.
The periscope lens allows the X30 Pro to zoom up to 60x, three times higher than the standard variant. Of course, it also comes with all the other features available on the Vivo X30 that we mentioned above. Both phones have 32MP selfie cameras with f / 2.45 aperture.
