Samsung announced the Exynos 980 as its first mobile chipset with a 5G modem. Shortly after that, Chinese phone maker Vivo confirmed that it is planning to release a 5G phone with the chipset by the end of this year. Now, new details about the phone have been leaked online and it claims that it will arrive under the name Vivo X30 5G in December.

The leak is from a Weibo blogger who goes by the name @it科技站. The Vivo X30 5G will most likely arrive as Vivo X27’s direct successor. The Vivo X27 was announced back in March this year. There is also a possibility that the brand will announce a Pro model of the phone as well.
The Vivo X30 has already surfaced online back in June when the company was spotted to apply for a trademark at the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). However, this time it has 5G in the name, so it might be offered in both 4G and 5G versions. As for the price, the X30 5G might be positioned in the upper mid-range segment with a lower price tag than the Vivo NEX 3 5G, whose prices start from CNY 5,698 (around Rs. 57,100).

The leak also includes several promo photos of the phone, which show a bezel-less display with no punch hole or notch. Therefore, we speculate that it might feature a pop-up selfie shooter just like its predecessor Vivo X27. Judging by the curves, Vivo might go for a waterfall display on this phone similar to what Huawei did on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
Another photo shows a triple rear camera setup stacked vertically at the back of the phone. We can’t see any fingerprint reader on its rear panel, so we would expect to see an in-display fingerprint sensor.
These are all details we have got about the Vivo X30 5G. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear anything more about the phone.
