Vivo U20 To Launch In On 22 November, Key Specs Revealed

Two months after launching the Vivo U10, the Chinese phone maker Vivo will announce the Vivo U20 on 22 November with a few upgrades.

Vivo is expected to refresh its Vivo U lineup by launching the Vivo U20 in India next week. A listing on Amazon India confirmed that the handset will make its debut in the country on 22 November. The device will arrive as the direct successor to the U10, which was first introduced in September this year. It will still come with a Snapdragon 675 SoC, up to 6GB RAM, a Halo-notched display, UFS 2.1 storage, and a triple rear camera lens setup.

According to the listing on Amazon, the upcoming Vivo U20 will come with the Snapdragon 675 SoC, which has already been seen on the mid-range Vivo V15 Pro and Vivo V17 Pro. This chipset is said to be 25 percent more powerful than the Snapdragon 665 chipset on the Vivo U10. The front of the phone is said to be covered by an edge-to-edge display with a water-drop notch at the top to house a selfie snapper. The display should be an LCD panel that supports FHD+ resolution and an impressive screen-to-body ratio. On the rear, it will likely feature a glass panel with a gradient finish and a fingerprint reader. There will also be a triple camera cluster stacked vertically on the top-right corner. Its memory configurations haven’t been confirmed yet, but it might be available in two variants - 4GB RAM / 64GB of storage & 6GB RAM / 128GB of storage.

The Vivo U10 was packed with a massive 5,000 mAh battery, and we doubt that the brand would go for anything less than that. In terms of software, we expect to see Android 9.0 Pie pre-installed on the phone with Vivo’s FunTouchOS interface.

The price of the Vivo U20 is still under wraps for now. To recall, the starting price of the Vivo U10 was Rs 8,990, so the U20’s price should not be too far off from that. Since Amazon India already listed the handset on its page, the e-commerce giant should be one of the main distributors for the device.
