Vivo S1 Goes Official As The World's First Phone With An Helio P65 SoC

The Vivo S1 is finally launched and it is the world's first smartphone to come with the new mid-range Helio P65 processor.

After leaks and rumors in the last few weeks, the Vivo S1 finally goes official in Indonesia. The handset is the first phone in the world to come with a new mid-range chipset developed by MediaTek, the Helio P65 chipset that is built on the 12nm process. It also comes with an on-screen fingerprint reader, a triple camera setup, and a gradient rear finish. Other notable highlights include a Dot notch, AMOLED display, a 32MP selfie camera, and a large battery. The latest Vivo smartphone will likely make its way to India sometime soon, possibly in August.
Vivo S1: Availability & Price
The handset is retailed at 35,99,000 IDR (around Rs. 17,700) in Indonesia for the single variant with 4GB of RAM / 128GB of storage. It is available in Skyline Blue and Cosmic Green and is now up for pre-order in the country. The handset was previously tipped to come with a price tag of below Rs. 20,000 in India for the 4GB RAM / 128GB storage option.
Vivo S1: Specifications
The handset sports a 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with an on-screen fingerprint scanner, which is embedded under its display for biometric security. On top of its screen is a Halo notch for housing a selfie camera. Under the hood, an Helio P65 processor is ticking at its core with 4GB RAM + 128GB of storage, which can be further expanded. In terms of software, it comes with Android 9 Pie at launch with FunTouch OS 9 preloaded.
Moving to the imaging department, it features a triple camera setup, including a 16MP Sony IMX 499 sensor with f/1.78 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. On the front, there is a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chats. Powering the handset is a beefy 4,500 mAh battery that supports fast charging solution.
