Yesterday, Vivo has launched a new smartphone model in China, called Vivo NEX 3S 5G. This is considered an upgraded version of the Vivo NEX 3 that the company introduced last year. It still has a waterfall screen but comes with more powerful specifications.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm's most advanced Snapdragon 865 processor, supporting dual-mode 5G networking - a feature that last year's model didn't have. In addition, it also comes with a number of other attractive features such as UFS 3.1 internal memory and LPDDR5 RAM.
Vivo NEX 3S 5G: Price & Availability
The Vivo NEX 3S 5G is expected to be sold in China from March 14 with prices starting from CNY 4,998 (around Rs. 53,000) for 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage model. Meanwhile, the more high-end version with 12GB of RAM + 256GB of storage is sold for CNY 5,298 (around Rs. 56,200). The Vivo NEX 3S 5G color variants are Black, Blue, and Orange.

For now, there is no word about the Vivo NEX 3S 5G launch in other markets.
Vivo NEX 3S 5G: Specifications & Features
The Vivo NEX 3S 5G has a waterfall screen design, a selfie camera system and the nearly-identical back panel to the Vivo NEX 3 5G. It has a metal frame, a glass back with dimensions of 167.44 x 76.14 x 9.4mm and weighs 219.5 grams.

The phone is equipped with a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED screen, with nearly 90-degree curves on the sides. The display supports Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2256 pixels), 100% wide color gamut DCI-P3 and sRGB, as well as accounts for 99.6% of the front.
Similar to the NEX 3, the successor to the NEX 3S 5G still uses the Touch Sense virtual buttons to adjust the volume as well as turn the screen on and off, instead of using the physical buttons like other phones on the market today.
The NEX 3S 5G is Vivo's first flagship this year with a Snapdragon 865 processor, combined with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GBUFS 3.1 internal memory. However, the device does not support storage expansion via a microSD card slot.

Moving to the back, the Vivo NEX 3S 5G features a triple-camera system placed in a circular module, including the 64MP Samsung GW1 main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f / 2.2 aperture, and a 13MP telephoto sensor with f / 2.48 aperture. The rear camera cluster supports 2x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, 4K video recording and 1080p slow-motion video at 480fps.
On the front, the Vivo NEX 3S 5G features a 16MP pop-up selfie camera with f / 2.0 aperture and an LED flash. In addition, it also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and pre-installed Android 10 with FunTouch OS 10 interface out of the box.
In particular, this phone is also equipped with a linear vibration motor, cooling system with the ability to reduce the surface temperature to 3-4 degrees Celsius and reduce the temperature of the chipset by up to 10 degrees Celsius. Other key features of the phone include 4,350mAh battery, 44W fast charging support, Wi-Fi 6, dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C port, and no headphone jack.
