2019 is about to end. OEMs have already planned their next step to conquer the smartphone industry in 2020. January is known for the CES event (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, US. The 2020 event is scheduled to take place from 7 January to 10 January. Even though 2020 hasn’t started yet, there have been rumors about very interesting technologies coming next year. Meanwhile, Samsung India is planning to launch quite a few smartphones early next year, including smartphones in the Galaxy A 2020 series. Xiaomi India is also said to bring its 108MP camera phone Mi Note 10 and Redmi K30 to the Indian market. So, let’s see which upcoming smartphones are going to India in January 2020 and we will also throw a few smartphones to launch globally on the list as well.
Upcoming Smartphones To Launch In India In January 2020
Galaxy A51 & Galaxy A71
The Galaxy A51 & Galaxy A71 are the latest Galaxy A 2020 series smartphones from Samsung. Both of them have already debuted globally earlier this month. In January, they might make their way to India. Both of the phones feature a center-aligned punch-hole screen, an under-display fingerprint reader, a beefy battery with fast charging support, and a quad-camera system on the rear.
To recall, the Galaxy A51 features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with a punch-hole in the top center. Powering the phone is an Exynos 9611 octa-core chipset, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. For photography, it boasts a quad rear camera setup at the back, comprising of a 48MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, it gets a 32MP camera on the front. Other notable details include a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging and Android 9 Pie-based OneUI 2.0.
Meanwhile, its sibling Galaxy A71 sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel, supporting up to Full-HD+ resolution. Its display also has a center-aligned cut-out for a 32MP selfie camera. It is driven by a Snapdragon 730 chipset, coupled with 6/8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Its quad rear camera setup includes a 64MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro camera. Its battery has a higher capacity than that of Galaxy A51, which is 4,500mAh. The battery also supports a faster charging standard (25W). In terms of software, it runs on the same Android 9 Pie with the company’s OneUI 2.0 on top.
Galaxy S10 Lite & Galaxy Note 10 Lite
Aside from the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite are two upcoming smartphones from Samsung. They have been mentioned in a lot of leaks and rumors in the last few months. While the Galaxy S10 Lite is tipped to pack powerful Exynos 9820 SoC and Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is said to come with a dated Exynos 9810 SoC. the Galaxy Note 10 Lite will most likely feature an Infinity-O panel, 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and Android 10 as well as OneUI 2.0 out of the box.
As for the Galaxy S10 Lite, the handset will pack a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a triple camera setup with a 48MP main sensor, and a beefy 4,500 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging technology.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is the first commercial smartphone in the world to feature a 108MP sensor. The handset already launched in China last month and globally under the name Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro in the same month. Xiaomi India also confirmed the launch of this phone in the country, and its price is rumored to be set around the Rs. 40,000 mark.
The Mi Note 10 is packed with a 6.48-inch Arc AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. At the top of the display, there is a water-drop notch to house a 32MP selfie camera. At the back, its camera setup gets five sensors, one of which is a 108MP unit. The other four cameras are a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and PDAF, a 5MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and PDAF, a 20MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
Keeping the whole setup running is a massive 5,260 mAh battery with 30W fast charging technology. Under the hood, it draws processing power from a Snapdragon 730G SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage
In terms of price, the Mi Note 10 will be priced at 549 Euro (about Rs. 43,100) while its price in China is set at CNY 2,799 (around Rs. 28,200) or CNY 3,099 (around Rs. 31,200).
Redmi K30
The Redmi K30 launched in China early this month. It is only a matter of time before the handset makes its way to India. The phone might be launched by Mi India arrive as early as next month. Unlike the model launched in China, the Indian version of the phone might only support 4G LTE.
The Redmi K30 is driven by a Snapdragon 730G SoC, paired with 6/8GB of RAM, and 64/128/256/GB of storage. Its front is covered by a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD panel with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, pill-shaped cut-out for a dual selfie camera cluster.
In terms of camera, the handset is equipped with a quad rear camera setup, including a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, its dual selfie camera setup comprises of a 20MP main sensor and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The whole setup is fueled by a 4,500 mAh battery that is juiced up with 27W fast charging solution. In the software department, it runs on Android 10 out of the box with MIUI 11 on top.

Realme X50 5G
Realme has been teasing the Realme X50 5G for quite a while and we speculate that the handset could make its appearance in China in January next year. The phone will arrive as the first phone from Realme to support 5G connectivity. The phone is also tipped to flaunt a 6.55-inch LCD panel, Snapdragon 765G chipset with 5G modem integrated, and quad rear cameras with a 64MP main sensor. There will likely be a 4,500mAh battery on the handset with support for 30W fast charging tech.
Realme X50 Youth Edition
Aside from the Realme X50 5G, Realme is also said to release the Realme X50 Youth Edition. The phone is tipped to pack a MediaTek MT6885 SoC with 5G connectivity. Other hardware details of the phone include a 16MP quad rear camera setup, 32MP selfie snapper, and a beefy 5,000 mAh battery with support for VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge.
