This month has been a very busy month with phone makers launching a lot of new offerings into the global smartphone market from the entry-level to high-end segments. Redmi is also expected to launch its first flagship device with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, though the exact launch date has yet been revealed. This upcoming handset is said to compete against the Realme X that is also tipped to launch around this month. Now, a fresh report from MySmartPrice claims that Redmi will not launch a single flagship, but the number will be two. Moreover, there will reportedly be three color variants and four memory configurations for both models.
Now, let’s assume that both of these upcoming Redmi devices will be launched in the flagship segment, it is highly like that they will both be powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 chipset. So what remains is how the two models will be differentiated. As per the leak, there will be three color variants, including Carbon Fiber, Blue, and Red. As for the memory configuration, it will likely be offered in four options, 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage, 8GB of RAM + 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage.
It is no doubt that the Redmi flagship/flagships will come with a pop-up selfie camera that has seen on a few other Chinese smartphones. As previous reports only mention a Redmi flagship phone with the design, we are not sure whether both of the upcoming Redmi handsets will have it or just one phone. It is also official that one of the two devices will pack an on-screen fingerprint sensor and also an ultra-wide angle camera. Xiaomi is said to be going to host an event in its home market China on 13 May, so there might be more details relating to these two flagship devices.
