Although its mobile division has been struggling for a couple of years, Sony has yet to give it up. In addition to launching new flagships, the company has also stepped into the mid-range segment with the Sony Xperia L4 even though Chinese manufacturers have dominated the segment in most of the major markets around the world.
Sony has unexpectedly launched a new mid-range smartphone called Xperia L4. Basically, this phone inherits a lot of features from the Xperia 1 flagship that was introduced last year, including triple rear cameras, a 21:9 screen and a fingerprint sensor on the side.
Sony Xperia L4: Price & Available
The Sony Xperia L4 will be up for sales in Q2 this year for a price of €200 (around Rs. 15,700) in Black or Blue hues.
Sony Xperia L4: Specifications & Features
Sony Xperia L4 is equipped with a 6.2-inch LCD screen that supports HD+ resolution and 21: 9 aspect ratio - much longer than the previous generation. More specifically, this is also the first smartphone from Sony to apply water drop design to accommodate a selfie camera.
Moving to the back, Xperia L4 carries on the system of three cameras arranged vertically at the back and located in the top left corner, under the LED flash. This camera cluster includes a 13MP main sensor with f / 2.0 aperture, a 5MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture. In addition, the device also has an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
The Xperia L4 really isn't an upgrade over its predecessor in terms of processing power. The phone uses the same Helio P22 SoC as the Xperia L3, aided by 3GB of RAM and doubled internal memory to 64GB.
It comes with a 3,580mAh battery, a slight increase compared to the 3300mAh battery on the Xperia L3 with a faster-charging standard. In addition, it also retains the 3.5mm audio jack so that users can easily use wired headphones.
