Sony already announced its flagship Xperia 1 back in June this year, but the brand decided to launch a revised model of the phone that is called Xperia 1 Professional Edition. The handset comes with several upgrades in terms of display and camera. Moreover, this model also supports LAN connection via its USB-C port. Other than that, this Professional Edition still has the same 4K OLED display with a tall aspect ratio of 21:9, Snapdragon 855 SoC, a 3,330mAh battery, and more.
Xperia 1 Professional Edition: Price
This new Xperia 1 Professional Edition comes with a hefty price of 143,000 JPY, which is equivalent to around Rs. 93,500. To recall, the starting price of the Sony Xperia 1 was around Rs. 67,500, which is much lower than that of this edition.
The device will be available for sale for the Japanese market on 25 October. There is no word regarding the phone will make its way to other markets.
Xperia 1 Professional Edition: Specifications
There are three major upgrades on the new Professional Edition model of the Xperia 1 compared to the standard one. The new edition still comes with the same OLED display with 4K resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. However, it now supports 10-bit signal as well as a better-calibrated panel that is based on Sony’s Master series reference monitor lineup with an Illuminant D65 colour profile. In addition, the phone is built-in with Transfer & Tagging add-on that allows users to input voice captions and tags to photos.
The last upgrade is that the device is Lan-ready via the USB Type-C port, but you have to buy the required cable as Sony doesn’t include it in the box. Other than that, the key specifications are still the same such as the Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage, 3,330 mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie.
Do you think that these three major upgrades worth paying an addition of around Rs. 25,000.
