The Japanese tech giant, Sony is said to be on the track of launching an affordable smartphone which is dubbed Xperia 4. The handset will sport an aspect ratio of 21:9, which is similar to previous Xperia smartphones including the Xperia 10, the Xperia 10 Plus, and the Xperia 1. But the Xperia 4 will have smaller screen size compared to other Xperia phones in spite of the tall ratio design.
According to Sumahoinfo, the information appeared on many Esato forums reveals that the upcoming Xperia 4 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch Full HD+ (2,520 x 1,080 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The upcoming phone will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It is said that the chipset comes with enhanced Artificial Intelligence and performance capabilities.
In the photography department, according to the report, the Sony Xperia 4 will have two rear cameras. However, the exact rear camera configuration has been unknown so far. And there is no information about the front-facing camera of the device as well. Additionally, powering the device is a battery with a capacity of 2,800mAh. The handset is said to measure 149.5 x 65 x 9.4 mm and lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Besides, the smartphone will be available in four color options including Silver, Purple, Black, and Red.
Should the Sony Xperia 4 be released, it will be the fourth smartphone of Sony with an aspect ratio of 21:9. Certainly, this ratio is considered as the standard which is followed by the entire movie industry. With this ratio, users do not need to optimize for the display size on the screen when playing movies. Furthermore, Sony also equips the Cinema Pro feature for recording videos in the 21:9 aspect ratio by default. It is said that the handset will have IP-certified dust and water resistance.
