The CES 2020 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas is over, and we're about to head to the next big tech event of the year, the MWC 2020 in Barcelona in February 2020. Sony has also officially confirmed it will be present at MWC 2020, with a brand new high-end Xperia smartphone.
Sony will hold its launch event on February 24, which is also the opening day of MWC 2020. The new Sony smartphones will succeed Xperia 1 and Xperia 5, launched in February and September last year.
Maybe the new Sony smartphone will be named Xperia 5 Plus. According to the leaked information, Xperia 5 Plus will keep the traditional design, which means no notch or camera hole. The smartphone will have a large 6.6-inch screen, an ultra-long 21: 9 ratio and slim body design. The bottom chin of the front panel will be slightly thinner than the bezel at the top.
However, this will not be the only Xperia smartphone Sony will launch in 2020. It is expected that this year, Sony will really revive and launch extremely impressive flagship smartphones. In particular, the most expected one is a smartphone with six rear cameras, rumored to be Xperia 0.
Previously, the Xperia 0 was tipped to carry a 48MP (f/1.2 - f/2.4) primary camera, a 20MP (f/2.4) sensor, a 16MP (f/2.4) camera, an 8MP (f/2.4) sensor, a 12MP (f/1.2 - f/2.4) lens, and a 5MP ToF 3D camera. Although it is unclear what the function of each camera is, we speculate that the device will have a wide-angle, ultra-wide, telephoto, and black and white lenses.
Besides, Xperia 0’s display is likely to have a 21: 9 screen ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 4K resolution.
