Some new models of Apple’s iPad have just been certified in Russia’s certification agency EEC. Even though their exact identities haven’t been confirmed yet, this certification still suggests that the giant Apple could be set to launch some new iPad devices pretty soon.
Seven new models of Apple iPad spotted certified on EEC
Seven unknown iPad devices were just spotted getting certified on the EEC website running the latest Apple’s iOS 12. These models include A2124, A2123, A2153, A2126, A2154, A2152 and A2133. It is speculated that these might be variants of the next iPad Mini and also two entry-level iPad devices with a display size of 10 inches. As shown in the below image, the listings on EEC don’t reveal further information relating to those iPad devices.
Ming-Chi Kuo, who is an Apple analyst, predicted in 2018 that Apple might introduce a new model of its iPad Mini in spring this year. To be more specific, the next iPad Mini might be called iPad Mini 5, is likely to pack a low-cost display and a more powerful processor to help Apple reduce the costs.
In the design department, the next iPad Mini will reportedly feature a similar design to the existing iPad Mini 4. Other leaks also claim that the iPhone maker will reportedly launch two entry-level 10-inch iPad devices alongside this iPad Mini. These two affordable iPad devices with 10-inch displays are tipped to have slimmer bezels compared to the iPad with a 9.7-inch display.
However, these upcoming iPad devices are unlikely to come with the Face ID feature, and they will pack Touch ID feature instead. They are said to come packed with the Apple’s A11 Bionic, not the latest A12.
The new iPad Mini is expected to come with a rather old Apple chipset, the A10 Fusion. It is suggested that Apple will start the mass production of these rumored iPad devices in Q2 this year.
If these rumors are to be believed, the iPhone maker is likely to announce three new iPad devices around April or May 2019. They might also be introduced in March, which is the time Apple usually unveils its affordable iPad devices.
