Samsung Shipped 2 Million Galaxy M Smartphone Units Before The Launch Of Galaxy M40 On June 11

Since Samsung prepares for the launch of the upcoming Galaxy M40, it revealed to have shipped 2 million Galaxy M smartphone units including Galaxy M10, M20 and M30.

South Korean phone maker, Samsung has changed its strategy in the budget smartphone series by replacing its Galaxy On and Galaxy J series with the Galaxy M series only sold online. Unveiled in the end of January, the M lineup has three handsets including the Galaxy M10, M20, and M30. Now, Samsung has released some sales figures since it plans to introduce the M40 on 11 June.
Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President of Mobile Business at Samsung India said that Samsung has shipped 2 million smartphone units in the Galaxy M lineup. Warsi said that the Galaxy M lineup is essential in the company’s growth story. In the last 3 years, Samsung had sold its Galaxy On lineup online and now the company replaces it for the M series. He said:
With the Galaxy M lineup, the company is competing with Chinese rivals like Realme and Xiaomi. The series is only available online and on Amazon.in. And Samsung will continue to carry out this strategy for its upcoming smartphones. Warsi stated that the M series which is particularly designed for online buyers due to what expectations for smartphones and preferences of smartphones are. Not only has accessibilities been completely good via offline, but it is also vastly improved in the online segment.
Recently, the M40 has appeared online. According to the renders, the device will feature a full-view display with no notch. Additionally, it will sport an Infinity O screen with hole-punch selfie shooter on the device’s top left. The shooter is tipped to have a resolution of 16MP.
Besides, the smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup including a 32MP primary sensor, a depth sensor and an ultra-wide sensor. In terms of hardware, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 675 chipset, paired with a memory setup of 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The phone is expected to run One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie at launch with the price tag of about Rs. 20,000.
