The Galaxy M51 will likely arrive as a successor to the Galaxy M40, but its launch should be far away since its production is still in the early stage.

According to the new sources, Samsung has started production of the Galaxy M51 in its Noida factory. The sources close to the South Korean company have confirmed that the Samsung SM-M515 (Galaxy M51) has entered production. However, it is tipped that it is only in the early stage, so the Galaxy M51 should not arrive at any time soon. It seems like Samsung decided to skip the Galaxy M50 and move to the Galaxy M51 directly. It makes a total sense since Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 with “1” in their monikers. In addition, it has also planned to launch several smartphones in the Galaxy A series and Galaxy M series with the same naming system. Therefore, it would be weird for the brand to announce a new smartphone with the name Galaxy M50.
For now, Samsung India hasn’t teased or hint anything about the phone yet. And that means the Galaxy M51 price in India and specs are also unknown. We speculate that the handset could arrive as a successor to the Galaxy M40.
Galaxy M40: Specifications & Features
The Galaxy M40 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. Powering the handset is an octa-core Snapdragon 675 SoC, aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable using a microSD card up to 1TB). In the software department, it ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box with OneUI atop.
Camera-wise, it rocks a triple camera lens system on the rear, comprising of a 32MP main sensor, a 5MP depth unit, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with a 123-degree field of view. On the front, Samsung packs a 16MP shooter housed in a punch-hole for taking selfies. Security-wise, it gets a fingerprint reader mounted on its back. Under the hood, there is a 3,500 mAh battery cell, that can be charged with 15W fast charging solution via a USB-C port.
The price of the Galaxy M40 in India is Rs. 19,990 for the sole variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
