Finally, after much speculation and expectation, the Galaxy S5 was officially launched at MWC 2014, becoming the latest and most powerful smartphone from the Korean phone company Samsung. The Galaxy S5 release date in India is 27 March 2014 while Samsung India set the Samsung Galaxy S5 price in India at Rs. 51,000.
Powerful Specifications
The Galaxy S5 uses an octa-core Exynos SoC with 4 cores of Cortex A15 clocked at 1.9GHz and 4 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz.
It operates with a 2,800 mAh battery and runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. The battery capacity is declared by Samsung to deliver 21 hours of talk time. The Samsung Galaxy S5 battery is also a significant improvement over the previous Galaxy S4, only 2,600 mAh.
Design & Specifications
If you are constantly surprised about the powerful and advanced hardware improvements, you will be a little disappointed in the incompatible appearance that Samsung showcased. Still a familiar plastic design, without any breakthrough in the build material. The device almost remains the same design as its popular sibling S4.
On its home button, Samsung has integrated a fingerprint sensor as previously rumored. However, to use this feature, users have to scan their hands vertically, not as simple as the Touch ID on iPhone 5s. At the back of the phone, there is a heart rate sensor for users to monitor their health.
A very valuable improvement on the Samsung Galaxy S5 sm g900h is the IP67 waterproof, dustproof, officially becoming a serious competitor to the "water-resistant" smartphone of Sony Xperia. On the product, you will not be able to find any gaps for dirt or water to get in. And, as claimed by Samsung, you can soak your phone in water for 30 minutes without damaging the phone.
Samsung's new flagship is equipped with a 16MP camera, an LED flash, and an advanced HDR mode.
Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Galaxy Note 4
Samsung has officially launched the second flagship model this year - Galaxy Note 4. Although both devices cater to two different segments, I'm sure you will have a little curiosity about how they fare against each other.
Accordingly, in this article, I will compare the two Samsung flagships in several departments such as design, specifications, price, and camera.
Price:
Samsung Galaxy S5 price in India is Rs. 51,000 while the Galaxy Note 4 price in India is Rs. 61,500.
Design
As you can see, even though both of the phones have a plastic body, the design language of the Galaxy Note 4 is not the same as the Galaxy S5. The device follows the footsteps of the rookie Galaxy Alpha, which is the frame surrounding the device with 100% metal material. If the S5’s rear panel features a perforated pattern, the Galaxy Note 4’s back has a unique imitation leather style as the Galaxy Note 3.
Just like Samsung Galaxy S5 t mobile, the front of the Galaxy Note 4 is still equipped with 3 traditional navigation keys: The physical home is located in the center of the bottom chin (both mounted with a fingerprint scanner). On the left side, there is the multitasking key and the right is the capacitive back button.
The difference here is that the Galaxy Note 4 is owned by 2.5D glass inherited from the Galaxy Note 3, which helps protect the device safely and enhance the rich viewing experience. Thereby, if you are not too concerned about the slightly larger size of the Galaxy Note 4, you will have a phablet with many attractive features like what the Galaxy Note 3 has impressed the vast majority of previous users.
Both the Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 4G are entrusted with Samsung's most renowned display technology - Super AMOLED, which delivers sharp images with vivid colors, deep contrast, and great viewing angles. Of course, the Galaxy Note 4 has been favored by Samsung with a 5.7-inch screen combined with a resolution of 2560 x 1440px, resulting in a pixel density of 515 ppi. On the other hand, the display of the Galaxy S5 only stops at 5.1 inches (1080p resolution and 432 ppi pixel density).
Performance & Specifications
The Galaxy Note 4 will be sold in two configuration versions, one of which carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (SM-N910S) with four Krait 450 cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and the new generation of Adreno 420. The other version uses an octa-core Exynos 5433 (SM-N910C) SoC, with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz & four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz, and a Mali -T760 GPU. The Galaxy Note 4 has up to 3GB RAM, while the Galaxy S5 shrinks at 2GB, but the price of Samsung Galaxy S5 is lower.
The Galaxy S5 is also sold with two configuration versions as follows: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and Adreno 330 graphics core or Exynos 5422 with four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.9 and four Cortex-A7 GHz cores clocked at 1.3 GHz, and a Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.
Although the TouchWiz UI interface and accompanying features require a lot of resources, the Galaxy S5 still runs very smoothly and lags rarely occur. Accordingly, with the superior configuration, the Galaxy Note 4 will surely meet all your needs every day.
The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in the same storage options: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, while the Galaxy S5 will only be available in two versions: 16GB or 32GB. Both have support for 128GB microSD, as well as indispensable connectivity options and sensors (fingerprint scanner, heart rate monitor, etc.) that a flagship needs.
In addition, the S-Pen of the Galaxy Note 4 has been raised to a new level by Samsung with many of the resonant features that you have been waiting for. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the same dust and water resistance as the Galaxy S5.
Finally, the Galaxy Note 4 impresses users with its battery and cool battery-saving features. 30 minutes are what it takes to charge its 3,220 battery from 0 to 50 percent. As for the Galaxy S5, it doesn’t support any fast charging solution and its battery capacity is also lower, only 2,800mAh.
Camera
Both the S5 and Note 4 have a 16MP rear camera, with optical image stabilization, which helps capture video better, clearer images, and higher-quality photos in low light. The front camera of the Galaxy Note 4 up to 3.7MP offers a viewing angle of up to 90 degrees and has an F1.9 aperture for better low-light capability.
Verdict
As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S5 price in India is significantly lower than the Galaxy Note 4 price in India. However, the Note 4 is better than the S5 in several aspects such as larger display, higher battery with fast charging technology, S-Pen, and more powerful performance. Fans of Samsung in India, which phone would you go for? If you don't have the budget to go for either of them, the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is also a great option for a much lower price.
