As the launch date of the Galaxy S20 series is getting closer, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has been spotted on the benchmarking platform Geekbench with the newly-launched Snapdragon 865 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM. The handset was listed with the model number SM-G986U.
Accordingly, the Snapdragon version of the S20 Ultra will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 865 processor from Qualcomm, paired with up to 12 GB RAM. The phone was also listed to run on Android 10 OS with One UI 2.1 interface on top.
In the performance test on Geekbench 5, the device scored 923 points in the single-core test and 3,267 points in the multi-core test. These scores are extremely impressive and much higher than the scores of the version running Exynos, which also appeared on Geekbench earlier.
To recall, the Galaxy S20 Ultra with an Exynos 990 Soc & 12GB RAM achieved respective scores of 427 and 2,326 points in the single-core and multi-core tests. Moreover, with the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the S20 Ultra will also support SA and NSA dual-mode 5G connectivity.
In addition, many previous reports also said that Samsung will release a Snapdragon-powered version in more countries, but we are not sure whether it will be available in the Indian market.
The Galaxy S20 series is expected to be officially launched by Samsung on February 11 alongside the next foldable phone Galaxy Fold 2 (Galaxy Bloom / Galaxy Flip Z)
