The upcoming Samsung Galaxy M30 has now spotted in Geekbench revealing some of the phone’s specifications. At the end of just last month, a leak suggested that Samsung was working on a new series called Galaxy M. This Samsung phone series was speculated to be the replacement for the existing Galaxy On, Galaxy C, and Galaxy J series.
Samsung Galaxy J series is expected to be replaced by the upcoming Galaxy M series
At that time, a total of three devices were reported, and they were Galaxy M 10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30, carrying model numbers of SM-M105F, SM-M105F, and SM-M305F, respectively. This upcoming Galaxy M30 will reportedly be the top-end variant of the Galaxy M series as the latest leaks around the Galaxy M10 and M20 have already tipped some of the specifications of the two.
According to the listing of the Samsung Galaxy M30 in Geekbench, the phone will be powered by 4GB RAM along with Samsung-made Exynos 7885 SoC and run the 1-year-old Android 8.1 Oreo which is quite outdated for a new phone to be released in 2019. It was also disappointing as it was first speculated that Samsung would opt for the latest Android 9 Pie on these new devices, but it seems like it will not be the case. The listing also reveals the Galaxy M30’s processor to be an octa-core architecture with a clock speed of 1.59GHz.
And that is all the information about the phone taken from the Geekbench listing. From other leaks, the Galaxy M30 is expected to come in two storage variants with 64GB or 128GB. Besides the Galaxy M30, the Galaxy M50 was tipped to pack an AMOLED panel while the other phones in the Galaxy M series would all come with an LCD panel.
Earlier this month, Samsung has already reportedly started mass producing the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 in India. Samsung is expected to launch these handsets in early 2019.
