Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Reportedly In Works; Key Specs Leaked Online

Earlier this year, Samsung has launched two high-end smartphones Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite. And in exactly a week, the company will launch the Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship series and the folding smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. Yesterday, a report revealed that Samsung is developing the successor to the Galaxy Fold. The Netherlands-based GalaxyClub.nl has shared some initial information about Galaxy Fold 2.

Samsung has yet to confirm the name of the successor to the Galaxy Fold, but all sources call it the Galaxy Fold 2. The new model is codenamed ‘Winner 2’ or ‘Win2’ for short, while the original Galaxy Fold has code name ‘Winner’.

With the same codename, it is possible that the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a similar design to the original Galaxy Fold. Therefore, it will not have any major design changes. Instead, Galaxy Fold 2 will give a more advanced experience than its predecessor. Rumor has it that the foldable phone will come with a stylus. Of course, the device will also have more powerful specifications than Galaxy Fold.

The Galaxy Fold 2 is also believed to have two versions, one version only supports 4G LTE, the other variant will support 5G dubbed Win2 5G. In addition, the report also says that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be released later this year, possibly at the same time as the Galaxy Note 20 or released in a separate event.

Some previous reports said that the device will be equipped with an 8-inch foldable screen with an ultra-thin glass layer called Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) and the Snapdragon 865 chipset.

Finally, the report also mentions that Samsung may be developing another foldable smartphone, but has not revealed the specifications of this model.
