Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 mid-range smartphone three months ago, and the Korean company is planning to launch a 5G version of the A71. Now, the Samsung Samsung Galaxy A71 5G specifications have been leaked.
Accordingly, a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-A7160 has been listed on the TENAA website. The listing reveals that the Galaxy A71 5G will use Exynos 980 chipset with a built-in 5G modem. This modem supports both SA (independent) and NSA (non-independent) networks for bands 41, 78 and 79. The device will also support 2 SIMs.
On the front, the handset will feature a 6.7-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED screen with a punch-hole at the top housing a 32 MP selfie camera. It will come in at least an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and come with Android 10-based One UI 2.0 pre-installed. You can also use a microSD card to further expand its storage, just like the Galaxy A71.
Around the back of the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, there will be a quad-camera lens setup, comprising a 64MP main sensor, 12MP wide-angle camera, 5 MP macro camera, and 5 MP depth sensor. Going by this, it seems like the Galaxy A71 5G will not have a significant upgrade over the Galaxy A7 in terms of camera.
Chinese website TENAA also confirmed that the Galaxy A71 5G will measure 162.6 × 75.5 × 8.1 mm and weigh 185g. It will still be equipped with an under-display fingerprint reader for biometric authentication just like its 4G sibling. Surprisingly, the handset is tipped to pack a 4,370mAh battery, which is even smaller than the Galaxy A71. It is quite unexpected as the 5G model generally consumes more battery due to the 5G connectivity. It will still support 25W fast charging over a USB-C port. Finally, other features include headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, and more.
