Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Specs Revealed In Full, Likely To Be Cheapest 5G Phone

The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will likely be the cheapest 5G smartphone, but the release date and price of this phone are still unknown at the moment.

Last month, Samsung teased its most affordable 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A42 5G. The brand also released some official photos of the phone along with several specs. Now, the phone’s full specs have finally been revealed in infographic form. You can take a look at the photo below.

On the front, the device is wrapped by a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with HD+ resolution. There is a fingerprint scanner put under the display for biometrics security. Around the back, you can see the quad-camera lens system, including a 48MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP portrait camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calls, it gets a 20MP camera housed inside the front water-drop notch with an f/2.2 aperture.

Powering the phone is a mysterious chipset with an octa-core CPU, including Hexa 1.8GHz and dual 2.2 GHz. Based on the specs of the eight cores, we believe that we are looking at the recently-announced Snapdragon 750G chipset, which is already seen on the Mi 10T Lite. The device comes in multiple memory configurations with 4 / 6 / 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable). 5,000mAh is the capacity of the Galaxy S42 5G’s battery, which can be charged at 15W. Three color variants of this phone are Prism Dot White, Prism Dot Gray, and Prism Dot Black. For now, Samsung hasn’t revealed anything regarding its pricing or release date, but it should be much more affordable than the Galaxy A51.
