Samsung has just launched two new budget smartphones, called Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s. Even though they are announced in 2020, both of these phones will be available for sales early next year.
Samsung Galaxy A12 & Galaxy A02s: Price & Availability
Samsung will start selling Galaxy A02s from February 2021 for 150 Euro (around Rs. 13,200). The device will come in four color versions for users to choose from, including White, Blue, Red, and Black.
As for the Galaxy A12, it will also be available in 4 color options, including White, Red, Black, and Blue. The Samsung Galaxy A12 price is 179 Euro (around Rs. 15,700) for the 4GB + 64GB option and 199 Euro (around Rs. 17,500) for the 6GB + 128GB storage option. You can purchase the phone from January 1st, 2021. In addition, there is an even more affordable version of this phone with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, but the brand hasn’t revealed its price yet.
You might feel that these prices are higher than the competition in India. However, we believe that if these two phones arrive in India, they will certainly be much more affordable because phones are usually more expensive in Europe.
Samsung Galaxy A12 & Galaxy A02s: Specifications & Features
Starting with the Galaxy A12, this is considered the successor of the Galaxy A11 that Samsung introduced in March, bringing some significant improvements in the camera and battery capacity. The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery, larger than the 4000mAh battery of the A11, and also supports 15W fast charging.
At the back, the Galaxy A11 has 3 cameras on the back, which are a 13MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Although the wide-angle and depth camera remains the same, on the Galaxy A12, the 13MP main sensor has been replaced by a 48MP camera and a 2MP macro camera is added, bringing the total number of rear cameras to 4.
The phone comes with a slightly larger 6.5-inch screen, supports HD + resolution and has an 8MP selfie camera. On the inside, it packs in the hardware power from a MediaTek's Helio P35 processor, paired with 3GB / 4GB / 6GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB / 128GB storage, expandable with a microSD card (up to 1TB).
As for the Galaxy A02s, this is considered an upgraded version of the Galaxy A01 that Samsung introduced in December of last year. The device has a 6.5-inch screen with HD + resolution, gets power from a Snapdragon 450 processor, has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory, allowing storage expansion via microSD card up to 1TB.
Moving to the back, the Galaxy A02s is equipped with a 3-camera system arranged vertically and placed in a rectangular module. The rear camera cluster of the handset includes a 13MP main sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Galaxy A02s comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging, which can be considered as one of the "worthwhile" upgrades when compared to the 3,000mAh battery of the Galaxy A01. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't have a fingerprint sensor.
