At the I/O developer conference this year, Google has showcased its Android 10 Q. The tech giant also announces the beta availability of the latest Android OS version to developers at fast as possible. The version is now available for 21 devices from 13 phone brand instead of multiple month-long exclusivity period back in the Nexus and Pixel days.
Both of the Mi Mix 3 5G and Xiaomi Mi 9 are included in the list of devices that are eligible for Android Q Beta. And if what Lu Weibing - Redmi’s GM said is to be believed (and he is usually right), the upcoming Redmi flagship or previous tipped to be called Redmi K20 Pro, will also ship with the Beta version of Android Q. And it means that you can both experience the new Redmi flagship and the latest Android version as well.
That being said, the Android Q Beta on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G and Xiaomi Mi 9 have seen quite a lot of issues, and we doubt that it will be a different case for the upcoming Redmi flagship. However, Xiaomi is not the only phone makers that are adopting Android Q for its custom UI. Honor and Huawei are also reportedly developing Android Q based- EMUI.
Meanwhile, the Redmi’s upcoming flagship is still under the wraps with not much being revealed so far. We have known that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Up front, it will come with a 6.39-inch FHD+ display with unknown resolution. On the rear, it will likely come with a triple camera setup, including a 48MP primary camera and a super wide-angle camera as well.
Up front, it is said to come with a 20MP AI pop-up front-facing camera. With the pop-up camera, the handset will feature a full-screen display instead of notched displays like other Redmi smartphones. Finally, there will be a 4,000 mAh battery powering the phone under the hood.
