Redmi Note 9S Announced: Snapdragon 720G & 5,020mAh Battery

Redmi Note 9S is a new mid-range smartphone by Xiaomi in the global market with a Snapdragon 720G, 5,020mAh battery, and quad rear cameras.

Today (March 23), Xiaomi has launched a new mid-range smartphone model in the global market, called Redmi Note 9S. It is pretty much a renamed version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which was introduced in India on March 12.
Redmi Note 9S: Price & Availability

As expected, Redmi Note 9S will go on sale from March 27 with three color options: Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey. The Redmi Note 9S price starts at around Rs. 17,900 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM version. Meanwhile, the high-end version with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage is sold at around Rs. 19,500.
Redmi Note 9S: Specifications & Features
Redmi Note 9S has a 3D curved glass at the back, while the front features a punch-hole display with a cut-out in the middle, which Xiaomi calls "Tiny DotDisplay". Both the front and back of the device are protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone is equipped with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen, supporting Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels), an aspect ratio of 20: 9 and accounting for 91% of the front. In addition, the screen of the device also has a brightness of up to 450nit, supports HDR10, 84% NTSC color range and has a low blue light certificate from TUV Rheinland.
Inside, the phone carries the hardware power of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G processor, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal memory. On the other hand, it also allows users to expand the storage capacity up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.
Moving to the back, the device is equipped with a quad-camera system housed in a rather-striking square module. This camera cluster consists of the48MP f / 1.8 main sensor, an 8MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 119-degree viewing angle, a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. In addition, the device also has a 16MP camera placed in the cut-out on the front for taking selfies and video calls.

The handset comes with a large capacity battery up to 5020mAh and supports 18W fast charging. The device is equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the side, has nano splash-proof coating, infrared sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and comes pre-installed with Android 10 operating system with MIUI 11 interface running on top.
