Xiaomi was planning to launch the Redmi Note 9 in India on March 12. However, after concerns related to the coronavirus, the event was officially canceled and instead, the Chinese manufacturer will introduce a new smartphone through an event live-streamed on the internet.
Just before the launch, the live image of the Redmi Note 9 Pro was leaked, thereby fully revealing the back design of the device. Specifically, this device has a back panel in Blue color, comes with a quad-camera system placed in a square module, located in the middle of the upper half that looks quite similar to Huawei's Mate 20 series.
In comparison, the leaked photos are pretty much in line with the rendered image shared a few days ago by designer Benjamin Geskin. Therefore, it is likely that the Redmi Note 9 Pro will use a punch-hole screen design with a cut-out in the top left corner to accommodate a single selfie camera.
Also, since the Redmi Note 9 does not have a fingerprint sensor on the back, it is likely to be mounted into the power button located on the right edge. Meanwhile, the Pro variant is expected to support SA / NSA dual-mode 5G connectivity.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro was recently found in the database of the benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing that it will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and pre-installed Android 10 out of the box.
According to the report, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is expected to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G processor, have a 6.44-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD + resolution, come with a 5,000mAh battery and supports fast charging of 22.5W. The phone will reportedly be equipped with a quad-camera system on the back with a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, while the front-facing selfie camera could have a 20MP resolution.
