Last week, the Redmi Note 9 series was confirmed to make its debut at an online-only event on 12 March. We have also seen the phone on the Geekbench database with Android 10, 6GB of RAM, and an unknown chipset with the codename ‘curtana’. Now, key specs of the Redmi Note 9 Pro has been revealed by tipster Ishan Agarwal. At the same time, the Note 9 Pro passed through Geekbench the second time while the vanilla Note 9 was spotted on the same platform under the name ‘Xiaomi merlin’.
Let’s start with the Redmi Note 9 Pro. According to tipster Ishan Agarwal, the handset will feature a 6.67-inch LCD panel of 20:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5, and Full-HD+ resolution. For selfies, it will get a 16MP shooter on the front, which could be housed in a punch-hole. Around the back is where a quad-camera setup is located. It will reportedly include a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a depth sensor.
The handset is tipped to draw processing power from a Snapdragon 720G chipset, alongside 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. Under the hood, it could pack a whopping 5,020 mAh battery, that supports 18W fast charging solution. Finally, the tipster suggests that it will come in three color variants, Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue. According to its Geekbench listing, it will have 6GB RAM, Android 10, as well as 569 and 1,755 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Moving to the vanilla Redmi Note 9, there aren’t many to say about this phone apart from its Geekbench listing. However, with this one, you should take a grain of salt as it wasn’t listed under the real name like the Note 9 Pro. It seems like the smartphone on this listing is powered by an Helio G70 SoC. That is why the handset achieves significantly lower scores compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro with a snapdragon 720G chipset.

If the news is to be believed, the two smartphones will likely compete against the likes of Realme C3 (Helio G70) and Realme 6 Pro (Snapdragon 720G).
