Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi Note 9 series in China, which includes the Redmi Note 9 5G, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 9 4G. All three phones have designs and specifications completely different from the international version introduced earlier this year.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
Starting with the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, the handset is equipped with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, supports Full HD + resolution, and has a 120Hz refresh rate. The device uses a punch-hole design with a cut-out located in the middle to accommodate a 16MP selfie camera.

On the inside, the device possesses the hardware power from the Snapdragon 750G processor, combined with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal memory, expandable with a microSD card. In terms of software, it comes pre-installed with Android 10 operating system and MIUI 12 interface.
The most prominent highlight on the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is the circular camera cluster on the back, including a 108MP ISOCELL HM2 main sensor from Samsung. The remaining three sensors in the rear camera include a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera for portrait photography.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes with a 4,820mAh battery, supports 33W fast charging via USB-C port. The device is integrated with a fingerprint sensor on the side, dual speakers, 5G network connection support, 4G VoLTE, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, an infrared sensor to control electronic devices, and a 3.5 headphone jack at the bottom edge.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G price is set at CNY 1,600 (around Rs. 18,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option. The top-end version with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage has a retail price of CNY 2,000 (around Rs. 22,500).
Redmi Note 9 5G
Talking about the Redmi Note 9 5G, the phone also has a hole punch screen design but the punch-hole cut-out to accommodate the selfie camera is located in the upper left corner, not the middle. The LCD screen of the device is measured 6.53 inches in size as well as supports Full HD + resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.

The rear camera cluster of the Redmi Note 9 5G is also circular like the Pro version but is only equipped with 3 sensors - including a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth camera.
In terms of hardware configuration, the device uses MediaTek's Dimensity 800U processor. It has 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and is pre-installed with MIUI 12 interface based on Android 10.
The Redmi Note 9 5G comes with a larger 5,000mAh battery, but the fast charging capacity is only 18W (included with a 22.5W charger in the box). The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual speakers similar to the Pro version and supports 5G, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC.

The Redmi Note 9 5G price will start at CNY 1,300 (around Rs. 14,600) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version while the 8GB / 128GB version will go on sale at CNY 1,500 (around Rs. 16,900). You can also get the top-end 8GB / 256GB version for CNY 1,700 (around Rs. 19,100).
Redmi Note 9 4G
The last one on the series is the Redmi Note 9 4G. It is pretty much a renamed version of the POCO M3 that Xiaomi introduced on November 24. The device uses a Snapdragon 662 processor, combined with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

The phone comes with a beefy 6,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging via USB-C port. Like the other two models, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual speakers, but lacks NFC and only supports 4G network connectivity.
The device is equipped with a 6.53 inch LCD screen, Full HD + resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The camera cluster on the back of the device includes a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth camera. Meanwhile, the selfie camera placed in the "waterdrop" notch on the front has an 8MP resolution.

The Redmi Note 9 4G price will be CNY 1,000 (around Rs. 11,300) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model. Meanwhile, the 6GB / 128GB version will cost CNY 1,100 (around Rs. 12,300) and the 8GB / 128GB version will cost CNY 1,300 yuan (around Rs. 14,600).
