The Redmi Note 8 series is now only available in China. However, there have already been rumors regarding a new smartphone in the lineup. According to tipster Mukul Sharma, Xiaomi is currently working on a new phone dubbed Redmi Note 8T with a Snapdragon 730G chipset. It might be an iterative upgraded model of Redmi Note 8 Pro, which is packed with an Helio G90T chipset. The Snapdragon 730G is a mid-range gaming processor that has a higher clock speed as well as better performance in comparison with the Helio G90T counterpart. However, the tipster doesn’t give further details about the phone.

The Redmi Note 8 series will likely make its way to India in the upcoming month. While the Redmi Note 8 flaunts a 6.39-inch FHD+ display and a Snapdragon 665 chipset, the Redmi Note 8 is stuffed with a 6.53-inch FHD+ panel and an Helio G90T gaming chipset under the hood. Both phones ship with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with MIUI 10 on top. They also both feature a rear fingerprint reader for security and pack up to 4,500 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging solution.

In terms of camera, both the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro sport a quad-camera system at their backs. However, the setup on the Note 8 includes a 48MP primary camera along with 8MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors. Meanwhile, the Note 8 Pro has a 64MP main camera instead. On the front, the Note 8 has a 13MP selfie camera, whereas the Note 8 Pro sports a 20MP one.
Recently, the Remdi Note 8 was spotted on TENAA in a new variant with 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. The series is priced from CNY 1,399 (around Rs. 13,800) in China. They are available in White, Blue, Black, Electric Grey, and Jade color variants. If Xiaomi is indeed working on the Redmi Note 8T, its price should be slightly higher than the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
