The Redmi Note 7 series made its first debut in January in China, and the brand later introduced the Redmi Note 7S in June. The series was previously said to surpass the 10 million mark back in May. Now, around 6 months after its first debut, the series is announced to reach 15 million units sold globally, according to India’s CEO Manu Jumar Jain on Twitter.
Notably, the Redmi is now an independent brand in China instead of being a Xiaomi’s sub-brand, and it is the same case for the brand in India. Its Redmi Note 7 series is probably the most popular smartphone series from the brand. Its latest Redmi Note lineup in India includes Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, Redmi Note 7 Pro. Unlike the model that is available in China, the Redmi Note 7 Indian version only packs 12MP + 2 MP sensors at the back. And that is the reason why the brand launched the Redmi Note 7S with a 48MP camera in May. In the country, the series reached 1 million units sold in only one month after going on sale.

The top-end phone in the series is the Redmi Note 7 Pro. It is currently priced at Rs. 15,340, Rs. 15,999, and Rs. 16,999 for the three variants -- 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, respectively.

The handset sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Performance-wise, it is driven by the mid-range Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with up to 6GB RAM / 128GB storage which is expandable up to 256GB storage via a microSD card slot. It boots Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top to take care of the software side of things. In terms of camera, it has a dual 48MP + 5MP camera setup at the back and a 13MP selfie camera on the front. Finally, it is equipped with a beefy 4,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
