Redmi Note 7 Pro As Best-Selling Smartphone Above Rs. 10,000: IDC Report

Xiaomi announced to ship more than 20 million Redmi Note 7 series smartphone globally and more than 5 million units in India so far.

Redmi Note 7 Pro has become the best-selling phone in the price range of above Rs. 10,000 in India. As per IDC (International Data Corporation), the device undisputedly led the segment. It is known that this phone reached this remarkable milestone within only 6 months after its global launch.

Responding to this success, Manu Kumar Jain, Head at Xiaomi India, tweeted:

This achievement comes after the company recently announced to ship more than 20 million Redmi Note 7 units worldwide and more than 5 million devices in the Indian market. The lineup includes 3 smartphones which are top-end Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7.

While the regular Note 7 has not been sold at present, the Note 7 Pro and Note 7S are still available in the Indian market with the price tag of Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 9,999 respectively. Both the devices have almost same specs with the Note 7 Pro featuring a bit more powerful SoC - Snapdragon 675 and a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera compared to the Note 7S. It is known that the Note 7S comes with a Snapdragon 660 chipset and a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL GM1 unit.

Additionally, both handsets have 5MP depth sensor, 13MP selfie shooter, a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 fast charging solution and a 6.3-inch dot-notch screen with FHD+ resolution. In terms of software, the series runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie at launch.

In the meantime, the brand also has also announced the successor to the series called Redmi Note 8, including Redmi Note 8 and its Po variant with a quad-camera setup on the back. The Pro model comes with an Helio P90GT SoC from MediaTek and the new 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Also, the handset flaunts a dot-notch display, 25X zoom capabilities, and a 4,500 mAh cell with the 18W quick charging tech. The regular Redmi Note 8 will have a 48MP primary sensor and a Snapdragon 665 SoC under the hood.
