Yesterday, Xiaomi confirmed to discontinued the Redmi K20 Pro in the Chinese market, in order to make way for its successor, the Redmi K30 Pro. Recently, the company has posted the first promotional image of the Redmi K30 Pro on Weibo, revealing that it will be launched in March and not using a punch-hole design like its sibling Redmi K30.
According to some previous reports, the upcoming Redmi K30 Pro will continue to be equipped with a full-screen display thanks to a pop-up selfie camera like the K20 Pro. The official advertising image released today confirmed this information, showing that the screen of the device will have an ultra-thin border on the top, where the speakerphone is located.
The right side of the phone will have a volume rocker and the power button. The phone will likely use an OLED screen and has a fingerprint sensor built below it. In comparison, it is clear that the front of the handset is very different from the K30 5G, which has an LCD screen with a punch-hole design and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the side.
While the back design of the Redmi K30 Pro is still a mystery, leaked renders on Weibo a few days ago said it will have a back design similar to the Redmi K30. The rear camera cluster of the device will still be circular, with a triple camera system placed vertically.
However, the Pro model will have a fourth sensor added right outside of the camera module and in the same line as the other three. In addition, the rendered image also shows that the phone will be equipped with a dual selfie camera, placed in the pop-up module located on the right side of the phone.
In terms of specifications, the handset will likely come with a 6.6-inch screen, use Qualcomm's most powerful Snapdragon 865 processor, combined with LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
The main camera in the quad-camera system on the back of the Redmi K30 Pro may be a Sony IMX686 64MP sensor. The device is expected to have a 4,700mAh battery, supporting 33W fast-charging technology.
