Xiaomi released Redmi K30 in China in December last year and only the standard model was announced. At that time, rumors suggested that the Redmi K30 Pro could be released in March this year. A recent leak tipped that the device might sport an OLED panel, a pop-up selfie shooter, an under-display fingerprint reader, and a beefy 4,700 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging technology.

The latest information about the upcoming Redmi K30 Pro is shared by multiple sources on Chinese social media Weibo. Unlike its sibling Redmi K30, the handset will reportedly sport an OLED panel. That means there is a good chance that the phone will feature an under-display fingerprint reader instead of a side-mounted one. In case you don’t know, the Redmi K30 only has a side-mounted fingerprint reader because it carries an LCD panel, which currently doesn’t support the in-display fingerprint sensor.
In addition, instead of the punch-hole display, Redmi will go back to the pop-up selfie camera design on the K30 Pro. Moreover, according to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Redmi K30 Pro will pack a beefy 4,700 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging solution. As for processing power, it was recently listed on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 865 SoC and 8GB RAM. In terms of software, Xiaomi should use its Android 10-based MIUI 11 on this device. For photography, you could expect to see a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor and a different camera placement from the Redmi K30.

As for the Redmi K30 Pro availability in India, the handset could come to the country under the POCO brand. Earlier this week, Xiaomi’s former sub-brand POCO announced the POCO X2, which is the rebranded model of the Redmi K30. It also has a quad-camera lens setup on the rear, a dual selfie camera system housed on a pill-shaped punch-hole, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, Snapdragon 730G SoC, 4,500 mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging solution, and up to 8GB RAM / 256GB storage.
