Redmi K30 Pro is officially announced and becomes the cheapest smartphone in the world with the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Here are all of its details.

The Redmi K30 Pro is slated to launch on 24th March and Xiaomi has started teasing some of its specs. We have already known that the handset will come with the top-notch Snapdragon 865 chipset, 5G connectivity, and 64MP quad rear cameras. Now, the brand has just shared a new photo of the device, once again confirming that it will come with a notch-free display.

However, surprisingly, the Redmi K30 Pro will actually not have a 120Hz display like the vanilla Redmi K30. 90Hz display then? No, its display will also offer standard 60Hz. At least the device will have an AMOLED panel made by Samsung, which is promised to deliver remarkable quality. Having an AMOLED panel also means that the handset will most likely feature an under-display fingerprint reader instead of a side-mounted sensor on the Redmi K30.

That being said, it is not the only downgrade that the K30 Pro will have as Xiaomi decides to use a single selfie camera on the handset in comparison to dual shooters on the K30. It is understandable as the Pro model will have a pop-up selfie camera, which will automatically retract if it detects that the phone is falling. You can watch the video below for a demonstration.

The Redmi K30 Pro will likely come in three color variants, White, Green, and Purple. In addition, the brand also teases a special edition of this phone, whose name is translated as "Fantasy Westward Journey 3D Edition".

Redmi K30 Pro: Review

After 3 months of introducing the Redmi K30, Xiaomi has released a new product in the same series called Redmi K30 Pro. It is the successor to last year's popular Redmi K20 Pro.

Redmi K30 Pro & Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition.
Compared to the K30, the most significant change in the appearance of Red K30 Pro is the rear camera module. You will recognize a circular "Oreo" camera module that stands out on the upper half of the back with a bunch of sensors on the inside. This is also a really good idea for Xiaomi to help its users easily distinguish between the two phones in the new K30 series.
Other than that, Redmi K30 Pro still applies the same language as the Redmi K30. We still have a back made from glass and gradient effect. It is available in four color options, including Blue, Purple, Gray, and White.
The four lenses in the camera module are placed symmetrically inside a camera housing with a relatively small hump. Overall, the back of the Redmi K30 Pro is quite simple and neat.
The Redmi K30 Pro weighs 218 grams and is 8.9 mm thick. Therefore, the phone is not really light and slightly thick. However, the finishing ability from Xiaomi is quite impressive when it provides a curved glass panel, giving a pretty good grip for users.
Another difference between the Redmi K30 Pro and K30 is that the newer phone does not use a punch-hole screen. It uses the same pop-up selfie camera as its predecessor, Redmi K20 Pro. That helps the phone get an impressive full-screen display and thin bezels.
The screen of the Redmi K30 Pro is a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED panel with no notch or punch-hole. The display supports HDR10+, DCI-P3 color gamut, Full-HD + resolution, and occupies 92.7 percent of the front thanks to the pop-up selfie camera design. Moreover, this screen can push up to a maximum brightness of 1200 nit and an ultra-high contrast ratio of 5,00,00,000: 1.
For security, Xiaomi uses the latest-generation in-display fingerprint sensor with a 10% larger surface area on this phone.
Inside, the Redmi K30 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor with dual-mode 5G connectivity. There are LPDDR5 RAM & UFS 3.1 internal storage on most models, except for the cheapest variant. Powering the device is a 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, which can fully charge the battery in around an hour.
In addition to the 5G network, the Redmi K30 Pro also supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, IR port, Hi-Res audio, and large 1.2cc speakers. The phone also has a linear motor to ensure the best tactile feedback, especially when playing games. To ensure the highest performance at all times, Xiaomi packs a VC cooling system with 9 temperature sensors to prevent overheating during intensive tasks on the K30 Pro.
For cameras, the highlight of this phone is the Sony IMX686 64MP sensor, with a large 1 / 1.7 sensor size and dual OIS technology for stabilization, as well as EIF format support, and 8K video recording capability. In addition, the setup has a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP portrait camera.
The fourth one is different between the two models. The standard Redmi K30 Pro has a 5MP dedicated macro camera while the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition gets an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and four-axis OIS.
On the front, the pop-up module houses a 20MP sensor capable of popping up and down in just 0.58s and video slo-mo recording at 120fps.
The handsets will be available in Starry Purple, Space Grey, Moonlight White, and Sky Blue color models. The Redmi K30 Pro’s first sale will be on 4th April.

Following Redmi tradition, the Redmi K30 Pro price is very attractive.

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,999 ~ Rs. 32,300
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 3,399 ~ Rs. 36,500
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 3,699 ~ Rs. 39,900
