A month after the device’s launch date was confirmed to be December by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing has just confirmed that the handset will arrive on 10 December. In the new poster, the front design of the Redmi K30 is revealed, which reconfirms the dual selfie camera setup housed in a pill-shaped cut-out and 5G connectivity. The cut-out will be placed in the top right corner of the display.
Redmi K30: Expected Price & Availability
In the Redmi K30 release event on 10 December, the brand is expected to announce the vanilla K30 only as the K30 Pro is said to arrive sometime next year. For now, the K30 is confirmed to feature a dual selfie camera cluster housed in a punch-hole on the front similar to the Galaxy S10+. It also supports 5G connectivity, though there should be a 4G model of the handset for markets that haven’t had the 5G network yet.
The Redmi K30 is most likely to arrive as the direct successor to the Redmi K20, so it should still carry a price tag of a mid-range smartphone. A few months ago, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing said that the price of the K30 5G will most likely be over CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs. 20,300).
Redmi K30: Expected specifications
Moving to the specifications, the Redmi K30 is said to flaunt a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and a massive refresh rate of 120Hz. A recently leaked photo of the handset reveals that the device will feature a big circular camera module at the back. The module will house a total of four sensors. Being a mid-range phone, the K30 is tipped to come with a Snapdragon 730 or a Snapdragon 730G processor. It might also feature 64GB of inbuilt storage for the entry-level variant.
